PDF Tools: Merge, Split, Extract & Rotate

Combine PDFs, select and reorder page ranges, rotate output pages, or split selected pages into a ZIP. Your selected PDF files are read in your browser, without a processing upload.

Select PDFs and arrange your output

Up to 10 files, 80 MB total and 500 selected pages. Password-protected PDFs are not supported. This tool does not preserve digital signature validity or guarantee interactive form/link preservation.

How to merge, extract or split PDF pages

Choose one or more PDF files and wait for the page to read them. Each accepted file appears with its filename, page count, and an editable page-range field. The default value “all” includes every page from that document. Use the move buttons to arrange the order of the source documents.

Choose “Combine selected pages into one PDF” to merge the selected content. A single source with only some pages selected acts as an extraction workflow. Choose “One PDF per selected page, in a ZIP” to create separate documents for the selected pages. Set an additional rotation and an output filename, then create the output.

The resulting download is generated from the current file order and page selections. The summary states the selected page count and output size. Download it and open it in a PDF viewer to inspect the contents before sending or publishing it. The tool does not provide a visual page-thumbnail renderer or a guarantee about every specialized PDF feature.

Page ranges, reordering and repeated pages

Page numbers are one-based, matching the usual page count shown by a reader rather than the printed number on a document page. An introductory page labelled “i” may still be page 1 for selection purposes. Check the source in a viewer if its printed labels differ from its physical page positions.

Use a comma-separated list such as “1,3-5,2.” This includes page 1, then pages 3 through 5, then page 2. Ranges run forwards and include both endpoints. Repeated page numbers repeat that page in the output, which can be useful intentionally but should be checked when building a final document.

The tool validates each range against the source document’s page count. An empty entry, an unsupported expression, a backwards range, or a number outside the document produces an error. It does not quietly replace an invalid selection with all pages. The combined selection across all files must remain within the 500-page limit.

How rotation and document order work

The rotation control applies an additional clockwise rotation to each selected output page. A source page’s existing rotation is retained and the chosen angle is added. Choosing no additional rotation leaves the source rotation unchanged; it does not reset a sideways source page to an assumed correct orientation.

Move-up and move-down controls reorder whole source files. The range expression controls the order of pages within each source. Together these allow a useful assembly workflow without uploading the documents or dragging thumbnails across a remote editor.

For example, place a two-page cover document first and a report second, then select “all” for the cover and “1,4-8” for the report. The combined document includes that order. If one source needs a different rotation from another, prepare it in a separate pass; this version applies one additional rotation setting to the entire selected output.

Split PDFs into individual page files

Split mode creates a fresh PDF for each selected page and places those files in a ZIP. The names use a sequence number and the chosen output basename. The sequence reflects the selected output order, including repeated pages or pages drawn from several source PDFs.

This mode is useful when a receiving system asks for separate page files or when individual pages need to be distributed separately. It does not group ranges into multi-page chapters. To produce a specific multi-page chapter, use combine mode with only that chapter’s selected range, download it, and repeat for the next chapter.

A ZIP is a container, not a PDF viewer. Extract it before opening the individual PDF files. A device may save the archive to a downloads folder without immediately showing its contents. Keep track of the final files and review the pages you intend to share.

Encryption, forms, signatures and specialized PDFs

Password-protected or encrypted PDFs are not supported by this tool. A file that cannot be read is identified as unsupported, encrypted, damaged, or outside the input limits. This workflow does not bypass passwords and does not offer a password-removal feature.

Copying pages into a new document does not preserve digital signature validity. Interactive forms, links, bookmarks, accessibility tagging, layers, embedded files, and other specialized structures may not be preserved as expected. This page-copying tool should not be treated as a full document editor or an archival validation system.

Keep original signed or otherwise authoritative documents. Do not use a reconstructed output as proof that the original’s signature remains valid. For documents requiring interactive forms or precise accessibility structure, verify the output in appropriate software and use a specialist workflow when necessary.

File limits and browser-only processing

You can select up to 10 PDFs with a combined input size of 80 MB. An individual source cannot exceed 500 pages, and the selected output is limited to 500 pages across the files. These limits reduce the likelihood of excessive browser work but do not guarantee that every permitted document will process comfortably on every device.

The tool uses the locally hosted PDF-LIB library to read documents and copy pages, and JSZip to create split-page archives. The application reads the chosen files through browser file APIs and does not send their contents to a document-processing service. Only the generated output becomes a downloadable browser blob.

Local processing is not the same as a full security or privacy guarantee for the surrounding site. WordPress and ordinary assets can make network requests. Nuo Pixel Solutions describes the processing path precisely so users can distinguish selected-document handling from the rest of the page. Clear files when finished, and remember that clearing the interface does not remove outputs already saved on your device.

Frequently asked questions

Does this compress PDFs?

No. This version merges, extracts, reorders, rotates and splits pages. A newly written PDF may have a different size, but the tool does not promise compression or optimize embedded images to a chosen target.

Can I select pages from several documents?

Yes. Each source has its own range. The output follows the displayed file order and the page order written in each range.

Will bookmarks and fillable forms remain intact?

Do not rely on preservation of specialized document structures. This tool copies pages into new documents; inspect outputs with a suitable viewer when those features matter.

Can I open a password-protected PDF?

No. Encrypted inputs are outside the supported workflow. Use an authorized document application to handle protected originals.

Is the original file changed?

No. The browser reads the selected file and creates a new downloadable output. It does not overwrite your original document.
