Free QR Code Generator: URL, Text, Wi-Fi & Email
Create a static QR code and download PNG or SVG. The code contains your chosen data directly, without a Nuo Pixel redirect or an expiry service.

How to generate and download a QR code
Choose the content type, complete the relevant fields, and select an output size and error-correction level. You can keep the default dark green on white or choose your own dark code and light background. Select “Generate QR code,” inspect the preview, and download PNG or SVG.
For a website, enter a complete address beginning with “https://” or “http://”. For plain text, enter the text you want a scanner to read. For email, enter a valid address and optionally a subject and message. The tool creates the corresponding content string and encodes it into a static QR symbol.
Before printing or distributing the code, scan the downloaded file with the phones and apps your audience is likely to use. A successful preview on this page does not establish that a tiny print, a reflective surface, or an unusual scanner will read the final material reliably.
Static QR codes, destinations and expiry
A static QR code contains the data directly. A website code contains the chosen URL rather than a Nuo Pixel tracking address that redirects to the destination. An email code contains a mailto link, and a Wi-Fi code contains network configuration information. The generated file is not tied to an account or a paid redirect service on this site.
The symbol itself does not have an expiry timer added by this tool. Its usefulness still depends on the encoded content. A website can disappear, a domain can expire, a Wi-Fi password can change, and an email address can stop accepting messages. Those changes can make a previously useful code point to an unavailable or outdated destination.
Because the data is encoded directly, you cannot edit a printed code through this tool after generation. Create a new code when the encoded content changes. If you control the destination website, you may choose a stable page whose content you maintain, but that is separate from changing the data inside the QR symbol.
Create a Wi-Fi QR code carefully
Enter the network name exactly, choose the relevant security type, and enter the password unless the network is open. Select the hidden-network option only when it applies. The tool escapes reserved characters when building the Wi-Fi payload so punctuation in a network name or password is not treated as a field separator.
Device support varies. A phone may recognize a Wi-Fi payload, display a confirmation, and offer to join the network; another scanner may display the raw text. Selecting the WPA family is intended for networks whose devices accept that payload convention, not a guarantee that every router and scanner combination behaves identically.
A Wi-Fi QR code is a way of sharing credentials. Anyone with access to the symbol may be able to read the password or connect, depending on the network. It is not encryption or access control. Use a suitable guest network when sharing access publicly, and do not publish a code for a private network unintentionally.
Color, contrast and the clear margin
QR codes need a clear distinction between the dark pattern and the light background. The tool requires the pattern color to be darker than the background and checks a contrast threshold before generating. This rejects some obviously weak combinations, but it does not certify scanner performance or compliance with every printing condition.
A clear margin surrounds the symbol. Do not crop that margin away when placing the image into a poster or label. Nearby text, borders, photographs, or decorative patterns can interfere with recognition if they intrude into the quiet area around the code.
This version uses square modules and does not place a logo over the pattern. Decorative changes can reduce readability, so a restrained symbol is a useful starting point for broad compatibility. Nuo Pixel Solutions prioritizes a clear downloadable code over a large set of styling controls that would need additional scan testing.
PNG, SVG and error correction
PNG provides a raster image at the selected pixel dimensions, from 256 to 2,048 pixels. SVG provides a scalable vector representation. SVG can be useful in a design or print workflow that supports vector files, while PNG is convenient for systems accepting ordinary images.
Avoid repeatedly resizing a PNG with smoothing that blurs the module boundaries. Keep the code square and preserve its clear margin. The right physical print size depends on viewing distance, encoded data density, the material, and scanner conditions. There is no single dimension that guarantees every use case.
The error-correction selector offers M, Q and H levels. Higher correction can tolerate some damage under suitable conditions but can also increase symbol density for a given payload. It does not make a code immune to cropping, weak contrast, extreme reduction, or an unreadable destination. Test the actual final artwork after placement and export.
Content limits, privacy and troubleshooting
The tool limits encoded content to 1,500 UTF-8 bytes. Characters can occupy more than one byte, so the byte limit is not always the same as the number of visible characters. Long URLs and large text payloads create denser patterns; shortening the necessary data can improve usability without relying on a tracking shortener.
Generation happens in the browser using a locally hosted QR library. The application does not submit the content to a QR-generation API or store it in this tool. Ordinary site assets, fonts, plugins and other page features can still make network requests. Wi-Fi passwords entered into the tool remain sensitive because they are deliberately included in the generated output.
If the code will not scan, first test the default colors with a short ordinary URL and a larger output. Then check whether the final placement cropped the margin or distorted the proportions. Scan the downloaded file rather than only the on-page preview. For URL codes, confirm the address opens independently in a browser before assuming the issue is the symbol.
Frequently asked questions
Will my QR code expire?
This tool does not add an expiry service. The encoded destination or credentials can still stop working or change, so verify the content over time.
Can I change a printed code later?
Not through this static generator. Its data is fixed when generated. You can maintain a website page you control, but changing the encoded address requires a new symbol.
Does a Wi-Fi code hide the password?
No. It encodes connection information and should be treated as sharing the credentials. Anyone with the code may be able to read them.
Which format should I download?
PNG is convenient for ordinary image workflows. SVG is scalable for compatible design and print tools. In both cases, preserve the square proportions and clear margin.
Does stronger error correction guarantee scanning?
No. Readability also depends on contrast, density, size, distortion, damage, scanner behavior and the final physical conditions.
